The Columbine Label Company Is Committed To Managing Health, Safety, and Environmental Matters (HS&E) As A Key Part of Our Business
We wouldn’t be an effective business if we focused solely on our product label printing services. As a business,we feel that it is our responsibility to help protect those who work for us while minimizing the impact we have on the environment. That’s why we’ve made it our policy to assure the health, safety, and environmental integrity of our production processes and work facility.
We are always seeking out opportunities to reducing risk on human health and the environment beyond the standard compliance requirements. We want to provide the highest quality products and service, but not at the cost of the safety of our employees and public. The prevention of accidents and injuries takes precedence over expedience. In short: profits don’t come before safety.
For three consecutive years, Columbine Label has been awarded a Circle of Safety award, and has been honored by Pinnacol Assurance for its outstanding performance in employee safety, loss control, and financial and claims management.
Pinnacol Assurance introduced the Circle of Safety award in 2008 as a means to recognize its policy holders whose safety policies went above and beyond the rest. Their high standard of excellence means that less than one-percent of their policy holders get this distinguished recognition. Among the many qualifications one must meet to receive the reward include holding a Colorado Cost Containment certification and having an Experience Modification Rate (EMR) of 0.85 or less in the current policy period. (EMR is a number used by insurance companies to assess past cost of injuries and future chance of risk.)
It’s our belief that taking responsibility for the safety of our workers is not only the right thing to do, but by doing so we help inspire worker loyalty and encourage productivity. We see it as a service to both ourselves and our customers, and we feel the same way about environmental safety, too. Eschewing protective measures for short-term profits has drastic costs in the long-term.
